Wednesday night Spar League action

Presteigne St Andrews FCRhayader Town kept up the pressure on Penparcau at the top of the Spar Mid Wales League table when they came away from Hay St Marys with a 2-1 victory.

This took Dylan McPhee’s side level on points with Penparcau at the top, but ‘arky have a superior goal difference.

Town was too strong for gown in the Aber derby as Aberystwyth Reserves made the short trip back from Aberystwyth University with a 3-1 victory under their belts.

While Presteigne St Andrews were busy seeing off visiting Dyffryn Banw at Llanandras Park, so their Friday night opponents – Llansantffraid Village – were also enjoying a decent victory as they came away from Llanfyllin Town with a 4-1 victory.

Llanfyllin are bottom of the pile as they have had three points deducted for failing to fulfil a fixture.

In the night’s other game, mid-table Waterloo Rovers did more damage to Caersws Reserves’ goal difference, which stands at minus 79, as they beat them 4-0 in Welshpool.
