If Presteigne St Andrews are to win the Aspidistra Radnorshire Cup then they are going to have to do it the hard way.
The draw for the second round of the competition has handed Tim Broome’s side a trip to fellow Spar Mid Wales League club Rhayader Town.
After their excellent 3-0 victory at Hay St Marys on Tuesday 22 September, the first team must have been hoping for a kinder draw but will now face what is arguably the toughest tie they could have been handed. The date for the game at Rhayader is yet to be confirmed.
Meanwhile CP Llanandras went down 8-2 in their Mid Wales League (South) fixture at Hay St Marys Reserves on Thursday evening (24 September). Jake Moses and Manny netted for Llanandras, but ‘Crowie’ reports he was missing seven or eight players due to work commitments, so it was always going to be a struggle at one of the early-season pacesetters in the division.
A reminder the Reserves will head to Rhayader Reserves on Friday 25 September when the kick off will be at 7.30pm. A preview of this game will be on the site on Friday morning.
