Presteigne St Andrews ensured the long trip to Dolgellau was well worth the effort when they came awy from that corner of north Wales with a 3-1 victory in their Spar Mid Wales League meeting.
In addition to this being a very welcome three points for Tim and his side, it will also set the side up for the second half of their weekend in which they will take on Newbridge in the Otway Cup final at Llanandras Park on Sunday (kick off 3.00pm).
Meanwhile, the Reserves also had a win – although they were clearly made to work hard for their three points in the Mid Wales League (South) trip to Llandrindod Wells Colts.
Barry Wiliams’ side eventually came through 3-2, although they were due to make a few enforced changes for the match as work got in the way, while there were also one or two players carrying knocks.
Barry and his boys will return to action tomorrow and I am sure the whole club will wish them luck when they head to Radnor Valley to take on the home side in their cup final (kick off at Radnor will be at 3.00pm).
It always looked as though it was likely to be a tough ask for CP Llanandras in their Mid Wales League (South) game at Talgarth Town.
‘Crowie’s’ side has faced a tough run of away matches over the closing weeks of the season and Talgarth was likely to be among the tougher ones given they are fourth in the league table.
While we don’t have too many details as yet, CP clearly put up a decent performance before going down 4-2.
Details on goalscorers etc are not yet to hand as they were not on the texts I received, but I will add these in as and when I get them while detailed match reports will be up on the site at some stage across the weekend (work, football and alcohol permitting..).
