Never mind the the shenanigans being battled out by the overpaid prima-donnas in the Premiership, the true battles for silverware will be fought out at Llanandras Park and Radnor Valley.
Tim Broome – whose work commitments ultimately allowed him to take charge at Dolgellau after all – will also be in the dug out for the Otway Cup final at Llanandras Park in which Presteigne St Andrews will take on Newbridge at Llanandras Park.
Presteigne were 5-0 winners when the sides met on the ground in the league, although Newbridge were better than that scoreline would suggest. But the teams finished all square at 1-1 in the return match only a week ago.
Home-team supporters of a more sensitive disposition will not need reminding of last year’s final between the sides that resulted in Presteigne being buried by a Newbridge side that outclassed them on the day.
The kick off at Llanandras Park will be at 2.30pm.
Meanwhile, the Reserves will head to Radnor Valley to take on the home side in their cup final (kick off 3.00pm).
Barry Williams will hope to be able to call on a couple of players who were due to be unavailable for the league trip to Llandrindod Wells Colts – Nigel Duggan and Steve Kay were both due to miss the trip to the Broadway, but Barry was hoping both would figure at Radnor.
While Presteigne Reserves were having to work hard to win 3-2 at Llandrindod Wells Colts on Saturday, Radnor Valley warmed up for the final by going to Newbridge Reserves and thumping the home side 5-1.
If you are off to either game – and in particular, Radnor – then please take a digital camera with you and take a few photos, remembering to then email in your finest efforts for use in the match report.
