There were three matches in the Spar Mid Wales League on Friday 14 May and all thre home sides were to come out on top.
In addition to Presteigne St Andrews’ comprehensive 6-0 victory over bottom side Llanfyllin Town, Hay St Marys rounded off their league programme with a victory as they saw off third-placed Bow Street in the their game.
Mike Havard, Tom Weaver and Josh Wisniewski were the Hay scorers as they wrapped up a comfortable win over a Bow Street side that was struggling for Friday night players..
This game marked the final appearance in the dug out for the managers of both clubs – Bow Street boss Huw Bates is taking a break and is certainly going out on a high with his side finishing third in the table.
For Hay, Fil Wisniewski took charge for the final time after his mid-season return when he was charged with ensureing Hay survived in this their first season at this level. Hay are destined to finish comfortably in mid-table so it is ‘mission accomplished for Fil.
The night’s other game saw Dyffryn Banw beat visiting Aberystwyth University 3-0 although it could well be the students were a bit jaded going into that one after a run of
There are three games this afternoon – it will be a midday kick off at Dolgellau where Waterloo Rovers will be the visitors, while it will be a 12.30pm kick off at Carno who will take on Llanrhaeadr. Llansantffraid Village will host Tywyn Bryncrug in a 1.30pm start.
In the Mid Wales League (South) it is derby day for the leading clubs – Builth Wells will host Builth Wednesdays while Llandrindod Wells take on Llandrindod Wells Colts at the Broadway.
It is also the Talgarth derby – Town are at home to Rovers – while St Harmon will make their shortest trip of the season to Rhayader Town Reserves .
It is hardly a massive trip for CP Llanandras who travel to Knighton Town, while Penybont United will head down the A44 for a game at Radnor Valley.
