We might have finished the season in terms of competitive football matches, but the club rolls on relentlessly and we are entering a very busy week.
Just in case it had slipped your mind, this Saturday night – 5 June – will see the club stage its annual dinner and awards night at the Burton Hotel in Kington.
Kick off in this one is strictly 7.00pm for 7.30pm and please don’t be late otherwise it means speeches etc will be delayed and the chairman is likely to become increasingly grumpy.
You are gently reminded – but in this instance only if the dictionary definition of ‘gentle’ is found alongside the expression ‘poked by an electric cattle prod’ – that you should get your £25.00 to Dot Griffiths prior to the night.
You also need to sort out your own transport to and from the ‘do’ as the club is not laying on either a coach or taxis.
Meanwhile, the club’s Annual General Meeting will be held at the Football Club on Thursday 10 June at 7.30pm.
There are a number of important issues to be discussed, as there always are at AGMs, while some posts will need filling – we are after a new cup secretary for example.
But you haven’t got to take up a specific post as the committee is always on the look out for new blood and all support in this area is just as welcome.
