While players and the bulk of the club officials have been taking things a bit easier over the summer months one band of people have been working hard behind the scenes to make sure the ground is looking at its finest when football recommences next month.
In addition to the usual essential maintenance work on the pitch as undertaken by groundsman Tracy Hammond, Mike Preece, Clive Griffiths and their helpers, a lot of work has been going on in the dressing room area.
George Lancett has undertaken to paint all three dressing rooms – home, away and referees – in order to give the facilities a much-needed lift while Andy and Lynne Stephens have also been busy down at the club assisting George and undertaking tiling work in the showers.
No doubt Tracy, Mike and Clive have been doing their bit with regard to this project, too, and there may well have been other helpers that I am yet to hear about – if there are, then please let me know and I will gladly add in their names as it is only right that all involved in what is a sizeable project should have their efforts recognised.
Bear in mind this work comes straight off the back of the work done towards the end of last season that was needed to ensure the club met the criteria required by the Cymru Alliance, so it has been pretty ‘full on’ for all of those involved over recent months.
In the meantime, our grateful thanks to those who have been working so hard to ensure the facilities are kept up to scratch for the coming season.
