Rhosgoch Rangers will now provide the Thursday-night opposition for the first team after they answered an eleventh-hour call to fill the vacancy caused by Bromyard Town’s decision they would be unable to fulfil the pre-season friendly.

The Herefordshire club informed Presteigne manager Barry Williams they didn’t feel they would be able to raise a side for the game on Thursday 12 August and so reluctantly would have to pull out of the game.

This left Barry with a bit of a headache as this was to be his last pre-season game and one in which he was keen to field his full-strength side as it would be the final opportunity to run through things given it is only six days before the opening Spar League first division match at Builth Wells on Wednesday 18 August.

But Rhosgoch have agreed to take up the fixture and so the game will go ahead on Thursday evening when the kick off will be at 7.30pm.

Meanwhile, Barry is planning on taking what he describes as a ‘mixed squad’ for the Ludlow Hospital Cup match against Clee Hill at Ludlow this evening when the kick off will also be at 7.30pm.
