Presteigne St Andrews will this evening host Rhosgoch Rangers in a hastily-arranged pre-season friendly after our original scheduled visitors to Llanandras Park – Bromyard Town – pulled out of the game.
Bromyard felt they would not be able to raise a competitive team for the game so let manager Barry Williams know earlier this week they would be unable to fulfil the fixture.
This led to a lot of phoning around by Barry in order to sort out a replacement game and he admits he is relieved to have a match this evening.
“We are grateful to Rhosgoch Rangers for agreeing to step in at such short notice as we would otherwise have been left without a game which would not have been great for our preparations,” he said.
“They will provide a decent test as they were among the front runners in the ‘South’ for most of last season and have now stepped up to the Spar League second division.
“But we should have a few players back in the side who didn’t figure against Clee Hill at Ludlow on Tuesday night,” he added.
The kick off at Llanandras Park this evening will be at 7.30pm
