No shortage of football this week

Presteigne St Andrews will open their Spar Mid Wales League programme with an away trip to Builth Wells on Wednesday 18 August when the kick off at Lant Field – according to the BBC Wales site – will be at 6.45pm.

It is hoped to have a detailed match report up on the first team page at some stage on Wednesday – it is unlikely to be later today as I am about to head up the M42 to cover Eastwood Town v Worcester City – yes, I do know how to live…

There is a report on the Reserves’ opening-day defeat at Talgarth Town Reserves up on their page of the site – thanks to ‘Crowie’ for doing the interview when I was parked in a lay-by on the A44 heading into work today – told you I know how to live!

The Ressies will be back in action on Thursday 19 August when they will host Mid Wales League (South) newcomers Knighton Victoria at Llanandras Park (kick off 7.30pm), while they are due to have a training session this evening in an effort to get Saturday’s result out of their systems.

Given the Under 18s are also back in training as of Monday evening, there can surely be no doubt now that the season is back with a vengeance – now all we need is a win or two!
