In addition to Presteigne St Andrews’ 5-1 defeat at Builth Wells, there were six other matches in the Spar League first division on Tuesday 18 August.

Defending champions Penparcau are still searching for their first point of the new season as they slipped to a second successive defeat, although it was always likely to be tough at Tywyn Bryncrug where the home side ran out 4-3 victors.

Berriew were relegated from the Cymru Alliance at the end of last season and the early indications are that they have every intention of heading back there at the first opportunity – they came away from Carno with a 4-1 victory for a second win and second four-goal haul in two games.

It is two wins from two for Llansantffraid Village who were 1-0 victors at Dyffryn Banw while Bow Street saw off visiting Dolgellau 2-0.   Llanrhaeadr also have six points from two games as they recorded a second-straight away win with a 2-0 victory at Waterloo Rovers.

Newbridge slipped to their second straight defeat as visiting Llanidloes Town put their first points on the board when they headed home with all three points courtesy of a 4-1 success.
