Presteigne St Andrews bowed out of the FAW Trophy at the first-round stage in a game that was not without controversy when they took on Pennar Robins in Pembroke Dock.
While the scorers have not yet come to hand, Presteigne eventually went down 6-2 after extra time after the game was all square at 90 minutes.
But Barry Williams’ side came so close – they led 2-1 until the final minute when the home side netted their equaliser to take the game into an extra half-hour.
According to club chairman Alan Randell, Presteigne were denied a clear penalty in the 90 minutes while the home side could easily have had a player sent off.
But he admitted Pennar looked far fitter in the extra time period as they scored four more goals to ease to what was ultimately a comfortable victory.
Presteigne lost central defender Max Powell with an ankle injury during the game although the extent of the problem is not yet known.
There will be a more detailed report up on the site at some stage on Sunday 22 August.
