Presteigne St Andrews’s wretched start to the season in terms of injuries has continued with the news that Max Powell is likely to be out of action for some time.
Max picked up an ankle injury shortly before half-time in the FAW Trophy first-round tie at Pennar Robins and it has since been confirmed the injury is likely to keep him sidelined for a considerable time.
“Max was due to go to Accident and Emergency last night on his return from Pembrokeshire and the initial signs are not good as he has a fracture of the ankle and some very badly sprained ligaments,” said Barry.
“We should know more tomorrow (Monday 23 August) as Max is due to return to hospital for further x-rays.
“But the early signs are that we could be without Max for some time which is clearly a blow so all we can do is wish him as speedy a recovery as possible,” he added.
Max’s injury comes on top of that of Callum Matthews who was sidelined after breaking his arm during a pre-season friendly.
