Presteigne Reserves will face another blank weekend as their scheduled Mid Wales League (South) home match against Bronllys on Saturday 28 August has been postponed.
But the good news is that the game has been postponed rather than cancelled, as Bronllys are still aiming to compete in the league this season.
Last week came news that the Breconshire-based club had informed league secretary Paul Worts of their intention to withdraw from the Mid Wales League (South) due to unforeseen problems with their proposed home ground.
But they have now informed the league they do plan to play on, but they need a little more time to put ‘Plan B’ into operation and so have requested that the trip to Llanandras Park be called off.
The league has agreed and so the Reserves face a second successive Saturday without a match after they themselves requested no game on Saturday 21 August.
Manager Andy Crowe is hoping to arrange a friendly fixture against Kington Town in order to ensure the squad gets a game or they will face going into their next scheduled match on Saturday 4 September off the back of three weeks without competitive action.
Watch this space for any further information on that proposed game – as soon as we hear about it we will bring the details to you.
