Presteigne St Andrews’ new-look Under-18s squad will see its first action on Wednesday 25 August when they will host Malvern Rangers at Llanandras Park.

As Trev puts it – ‘Like all Champions League matches this one will kick off at  7.45pm!’  Possibly more realistically this is to give Malvern more time to get there…

While manager Trevor Gummer has retained the services of a number of last season’s squad, others have gone beyond the age limit and so inevitably there will be new additions to the squad.

Trev is to be assisted this season by Roy Simcock who has opted to hang up the playing boots in favour of trying to bring on the next generation of Presteigne football talent.

“Malvern Rangers’ chief  ‘Reg’ seemed very keen to bring a side up here and we were happy to accommodate them as it will be a good work out for us,” said Trevor.

“I am not sure how far advanced they are in terms of their pre-season so it will be very much a leap into the unknown.

“But it is good to have a game of this kind as I am sure they will provide us with a good test,” he said.

All support for the new squad will be welcome and admission for the game will be £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and those under the age of 16.
