Presteigne St Andrews FC’s first-team manager Barry Williams says the initial fears over the extent of Max Powell’s injury have been borne out and the centre-back is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Max has said the fracture will keep him out for six weeks or so but the ligament damage could be a lot longer job,” he said.

“Callum [Matthews] is still about three to four weeks away from playing with his arm injury.

“We will be without Tom Watkins [wedding] Ioan Hughes [knee injury] and Richie Wilding [unavailable] for the Welsh Cup trip to Ammanford so will again have to call on the boys from the Reserves to help out again this week.

“It is a good job they haven’t got a game, although hopefully we should have Ryan Stokes and Johnny Bird back while I am also waiting to see what shift Tony Richards is on,” he added.

Barry is also keen to stress there will be a training session on Thursday 26 August for all teams on the school field at 6.30pm.
