Match report, meeting and midweek game

Barry admits the side was well beaten by Bow Street

Sunday morning and the dust is starting to settle on yesterday afternoon’s events at Llanandras Park – there is a match report up on the first team page of the site – click on the ‘First Team’ tab at the top of this page and that will take you to it.

The injury situation shows little sign of easing – Steve Kay is the latest victim as he had a trip to A and E last night to establish the extent of his knee problem.

The Reserves produced a decent result in coming away from Llandrindod Wells Reserves with a 4-2 victory and I shall be chasing up Andy Crowe for all the details on that one at some stage on Monday 6 September with a view to then putting up a match report on their page.

Coming up this week – well, committee members are reminded there is a meeting scheduled for Tuesday 7 September at the clubhouse (kick off 7.30pm) and you are urged to attend.  You are especially urged to attend if you have a fistful of £25.00s from collecting the 100 Club renewals – treasurer Rose Weiland would doubtless be delighted to take these off your hands…

Wednesday evening will see the rescheduled Under 18s pre-season friendly against Malvern Rangers that fell victim to the rain a couple of weeks ago.

The Worcestershire side has been keen to play at Llanandras Park for some time and here’s hoping the rain holds off this time so Trevor Gummer’s new look side can get some match practice in before their season gets underway.

The Under 18s game on Wednesday night will kick off at 7.45pm so as to allow our opponents a little longer to make the trip from Worcestershire.   As the game is a pre-season friendly, rather than a formal admission charge, there will be a collection in order to offset the costs and someone will be moving among you looking for a quid from all spectators.
