Presteigne St Andrews Under 18s side will open their campaign on Wednesday 7 September when they will take on Malvern Rangers in a pre-season friendly match at Llanandras Park.
Speaking on Monday, Under 18s manager Trevor Gummer was not entirely sure as the strength of the side he would be able to field for this match, but was confident it would be competitive, even though he was not too sure about the relative strength of the Malvern Rangers side.
The Worcestershire club has been keen to play a match at Llanandras Park for some time and they were originally due to take on the Under 18s a fortnight ago, but the traditional British mid-August monsoon put paid to any chance of that happening.
So, the two sides will try again on Wednesday evening when the kick off will be at 7.45pm – 15 minutes later than normal so as to allow our visitors a bit longer to make the trip from Worcestershire.
While there will be no formal admission charge for the game due to it being a pre-season friendly, there will be a collection so if you are attending please be prepared to put your hand in your pocket to help offset the costs of match officials and floodlights etc.
