Presteigne St Andrews’ first-team fixtures for the remainder of this month and also October are now online – simply put your cursor over the ‘First Team’ tab at the top of the page and then go to ‘Fixtures and Results 2010-11’.
There have been a couple of changes to the September fixtures – this is mainly so we and the Spar Mid Wales League can do Dolgellau a favour as they are having problems with the new drainage system they have installed under their playing surface.
Barry’s side was originally due to play at home to Tywyn Bryncrug on Saturday 18 September and then head to Dolgellau a week later. But we will now travel to Tywyn on 18 September and host Dolgellau on Saturday 25 September.
Dolgellau originally contacted the club to see if we would be prepared to host them on 25 September, but the committee pointed out that – while we would happily help them out of a tight corner if we could – this would lead our having six successive home league matches in September.
Fortunately, common sense has prevailed and so Barry and his boys will make the long trip to Tywyn Bryncrug on 18 September which presumably will also allow Andy Crowe’s Reserves to check out where Llanandras Park is as they would otherwise have been facing well over a month on the road.
The October fixtures are also out – as Presteigne had a host of home games in September, so much of October will be spent on their travels.
This includes trips to Llanrhaeadr (subject to their not being involved in the Welsh Cup), Penparcau and Aberystwyth University. There are also home games against Llansantffraid Village and Dyffryn Banw.
