Presteigne St Andrews’ manager Barry Williams has vowed to keep working hard in an effort to improve the side’s results and performances.
“I read the match report of the Berriew game and there is not a lot I could add to dress it up so that it looks any better,” he admitted.
“I think all the lads are giving their all and not one of them has given up in any of the games and talking with them after the match they won’t be giving up in any of the following games to come either.
“The gulf showed – we were a ‘South’ side last year and they were Cymru Alliance and wingers were like lighting and, talking to them afterwards, the one was a Welsh sprint champion.
“He should have gone over the bar the first time he went up the wing!” joked Barry.
A reminder that this weekend’s fixture has been reversed – initially Presteigne were due to host Tywyn Bryncrug, but the fixture will now be played at Bryncrug so as to allow Presteigne to host Dolgellau the following week.
Barry hopes to have a couple of players back for the trip to north Wales, while he is also still looking to improve the overall strength of his squad.
“Looking at next weekend we should have Tom Ammonds back and maybe Mark Weiland,” he said.
“On the bright side we managed to get through the Berriew game without picking up any further injuries.
“We are hoping to talk to a couple of lads in the week to see if they are interested in signing for us.”
