Preview of the weekend action

Presteigne St Andrews FCIn addition to Presteigne St Andrews’ long trip to Tywyn Bryncrug, there are four other first division matches in the Spar Mid Wales League this weekend.

With Berriew not scheduled to play, Llanrhaeadr will be looking to go clear at the top by beating last season’s title-winners Penparcau when the sides meet in Montgomeryshire.

Bow Street are in the chasing pack and they have an attractive-looking game at home to Carno while another of those on the leaders’ coat-tails – Builth Wells – also have home advantage for their game against Waterloo Rovers.

In the first divsion’s other game, Dyffryn Banw will host Dolgellau.

In the second division, the leaders Kerry head to Talgarth Town looking to at least consolidate their five-point advantage at the top of the table while second-placed Abermule travel to improving Llanfyllin Town.

Rhosgoch Rangers will make the trip to Four Crosses while it is an away-day at Llanfair United for Tregaron Turfs.

In the Mid Wales League (South) while Andy Crowe’s Reserves will be doing their best to rein in second-placed Newbridge Reserves, the leaders Rhayader Town Reserves will host fourth-placed Talgarth Town Reserves in what looks to be the division’s game of the day.

Knighton Town will fancy their chances at St Harmon, while Knighton Victoria will have similar grounds for optimism when Sennybridge come calling to Bryn-y-Castell.   Bronllys have strengthened their squad this week and they will put that to the test when they host Penybont.

Newcastle are in third place in the table as they head into their home game against Llandrindod Wells Reserves while Builth Wells Reserves will head to Radnor Valley.
