In Wednesday night’s other Spar Mid Wales League first division matches there were big wins for Llansantffraid Village and Llanidloes Town.
Llansantffraid were the top-scorers of the evening as they ran out 6-2 home victors over Waterloo Rovers.
Llanidloes Town served further notice that opponents will underestimate them at their peril this season as they thumped visiting Bow Street 5-0 to maintain their impressive start to the season.
The shock of the evening – with all due respect to Dyffryn Banw – was their point from a goal-less draw at a Berriew side that had looked extremely useful when winning 9-0 at Presteigne recently.
Berriew missed the chance to go top of the table but they move to within two points behind the leaders Llanrhaeadr although they have played a game more.
At the bottom, Banw’s point at Berriew means Presteigne are four points adrift at the foot of the table and so Barry Williams’ side will be especially keen to open its account when Dolgellau come calling on Saturday 25 September.
