The weekend action starts on Friday night when Berriew will have the chance to go back to the top of the Spar League first division table when they entertain Llansantffraid Village.
A win for Berriew would take them back to the top of the table for 24 hours at least as Llanrhaeadr would regain top spot where they to then beat Presteigne St Andrews on Saturday afternoon.
There are three other matches in the first division on Saturday afternoon although this will be dependent on the weather. Builth Wells will look to keep up the pressure on the leading sides when they will host Dyffryn Banw at Lant Field.
Newbridge have blown hot and cold so far this season, but they will be hoping to make home advantage count in their game against Tywyn Bryncrug.
The day’s other game sees defending champions Penparcau make the trip to Waterloo Rovers – both sides are in the bottom third of the table so both will be chasing the win they need to head up towards half way.
In the second division, the leaders Kerry will be reasonably confident of at least maintaining their eight-point lead when they head to second-bottom Bont. Whether or not they can extend that lead will clearly depend on Kerry winning and a clutch of clubs, including second-placed Abermule who are at home to Llandrindod, slipping up in their matches.
Rhosgoch Rangers are in third place and have three games in hand over the sides above them – they are at home to Montgomery Town while Tregaron Turfs face a trip to bottom side Meifod and Llanfyllin Town face the long trip to Aberaeron.
In the Mid Wales League (South), Rhayader Town Reserves will go into their home match against Sennybridge odds-on to maintain their 100 percent record at the top of the table – ‘bridge are the cheap wine of the league in that they don’t travel well and are one of three clubs yet to register a point so far this season.
Fourth-placed Newbridge Reserves can go second, but only if they win a tough-looking match at Talgarth Town Reserves while Knighton Town will host Llandrindod Wells Reserves and Builth Wells Reserves will head to Penybont.
There are two first-round ties in the Pip Samuel (Electrical) League Cup in which Radnor Valley will host Hay St Marys and Bronllys will take on Newcastle at Gwernyfed School.
A number of clubs are involved in first-round ties in the Emrys Morgan Cup.
