Presteigne St Andrews scheduled Under 18s match against Llandrindod Wells has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
Club chairman Alan Randell took a look at Llanandras Park earlier today and was left with no option but to postpone the match.
“Those who know the ground will know what I mean when I say it was the usual section of the ground down towards the Lugg View end,” he said.
“There was also a bit of a problem on the section of the pitch immediately in front of the clubhouse.
“Given the amount of rain we had yesterday it will have come as no great surprise to anyone that the match had to be called off,” he added.
Those living in Presteigne will go along with this – there was a torrent of water running down into Lugg View at one point yesterday morning after the torrential rain that hit the area and, given the Lugg View estate backs on Llanandras Park, there was always a danger the match could be called off.
As soon as we have a new date for the Llandrindod fixture I will amend the Under 18 fixtures section for this season.
