Llanrhaeadr go into the latest round of Spar Mid Wales League first division matches with a two-point lead at the top of the table and they will be looking to at least maintain that when they head to an inconsistent Carno.
But Berriew will be keen to profit from any Llanrhaeadr slip-ups – they head north to Dolgellau – while third-placed Bow Street are at home to a Dyffryn Banw side that has shown signs of improvement in recent weeks.
Newbridge have climbed the table to fourth and they will have a chance of a quick-fire double as they head to a Tywyn Bryncrug side they beat 3-1 at home last time out.
Presteigne St Andrews will again go in search of their first point of the season when they will take on Llansantffraid Village at Llanandras Park, while Aberystwyth University will make their seasonal debut when they will head to Waterloo Rovers while Builth Wells head to Penparcau.
The second division leaders Kerry will stay top whatever happens in their match at Llandrindod Wells – they are eight points clear at the top of the table. Second-place Abermule will entertain Aberaeron while Tregaron Turfs are level on points with Abermule and will be looking to make home advantage count against Four Crosses.
Talgarth Town will be looking to climb into the top half of the table by taking all three points against visiting Llanfyllin Town, while bottom side Meifod will host mid-table Llanfair United.
In the day’s other match Rhosgoch Rangers will look to close the gap on the leading clubs when they will head to a Bont side that is struggling towards the foot of the table.
In the Mid Wales League (South), Presteigne Reserves return to action after a week’s enforced absence with a tricky-looking game at Newcastle while something will have to give at the bottom of the table when Bronllys entertain St Harmon – both sides are yet to earn a point this season.
There are three more ties in the Pip Samuel (Electrical) League Cup first round, including a Knighton derby game in which Town will entertain Victoria. The day’s other matches will see Rhayader Town Reserves facing arguably their most serious challenge to date with a home match against Newbridge Reserves, while Sennybridge will have home advantage for their game against Penybont.
