Presteigne St Andrews put Llansantffraid Village under pressure

Match previews for the weekend action are up on the teams’ respective pages on the site – thanks to the managers Barry and ‘Crowie’ for their help with this.

The first team face a tough-looking trip to Penparcau for their Spar Mid Wales League first division match with Barry Williams again facing being without experienced midfielder Adie Bennett.

He limped out of last weekend’s home match against Llansantffraid Village due to a recurrence of his hamstring injury.

Richie Wilding is likely to make the trip to Penparcau with the first-team squad while Bobby Bird is back after suspension.

As for the Reserves, they will have home advantage for their Mid Wales League (South) match against a Rhayader Town Reserves side that boasts an unblemished record so far this season.

They have won all 10 league matches so far this season while last weekend they beat visiting Newbridge Reserves 9-2 in their League Cup first-round tie.

Goalscoring has not exactly been a problem for Rhayader’s second string this season – in addition to the nine they netted last week, they have also registered a 14-0, a 13-0 and a 12-0 win in league matches, so ‘Crowie’s’ side will clearly have to be on top form.

The kick off in both matches will be at 2.30pm and it is hoped to have the results up on the site on Saturday evening with more detailed reports on the respective games to follow at some stage on Sunday 17 or Monday 18 October.
