The Llanandras Park pitch has been passed fit for tonight's game

Presteigne St Andrews FC’s Under 18s will take on Wellington this evening in the Giantkillers Cup at Llanandras Park when the kick off will be at 7.30pm.

Club chairman Alan Randell carried out an initial inspection of the Llanandras Park playing surface at lunchtime and – after consultation with the groundsman Tracy Hammond – the pitch has been passed fit.

“Tracy has been on the pitch today and has rolled it and to be honest when we looked it was perfectly playable,” said Alan.

“Yes, it is wet in places, but then it was always going to be after the weather we have had, but there is no real concern as things stand.

“Clearly, if there was a downpour between now and kick off then we would have to reconsider – I will go down to the ground at 4.oopm and take another look but, as things stand, it is ‘game on’,” he added.

The kick off will be at 7.30pm and admission will be £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngsters under the age of 16.

All support would be welcome as would anyone who can volunteer to help out by doing the gate for this evening’s match as Dot Griffiths is on the look out for someone to help out with this important job.

If you are going down to the game, then please take a digital camera with you and take a few snaps of the action and then please email them into the website for use in the match report.
