One win, one draw, and one defeat…

Presteigne St Andrews went out of the FAW Trophy when they were beaten 3-2 at home by Hay St Marys in their third round meeting at Llanandras Park, but it took extra time to separate the sides.

Sam Williams scored both Presteigne goals and the feeling from ‘my man at the game’ was that Presteigne were the better side, but just couldn’t score.  If you disagree, well, email your thoughts!

The Reserves overcame the loss of a number of key players to cruise to a 5-0 victory at Radnor Valley in their Mid Wales League (South) game.  Danny Ives netted twice for Barry Williams’ side, with Tom Watkins, Ryan Stokes and Ioan Hughes also on target.

To paraphrase Shakespeare, it was ‘much ado about nothing-nothing’ up at St Harmon as CP Llanandras picked up their fourth draw of the season in a goal-less encounter against the division’s bottom side.

It was also the Swifts’ first league point of the Mid Wales League (South) season.

CP Llanandras were, by all accounts (well, at least by ‘Crowie’s’ account) ‘poor in the first half in which they still managed to carve out three clear-cut chances, but improved after the break to dominate the second period in which they hit both post and bar, as well as having several one-on-ones with the keeper’.

Full match reports to come when I get the relevant information from the respective managers, but it is hoped they will be up on the site by Sunday evening/Monday morning.

A reminder the first team will be at home on Monday 19 October when they will take on Aberystwyth University in a Spar Mid Wales League match when the kick off will be at 7.45pm.
