In the Spar Mid Wales League the status quo was maintained at the top when the leaders Aberystwyth Reserves were held to a 1-1 draw at second-placed Tywyn Bryncrug.
Rhayader Town are still third, but they are now level on points with Tywyn after a 1-0 win at Aberystwyth University, who remain bottom of the table.
The big winners of the weekend were Llansantfraidd Village – who came away from Dolgellau with a 6-1 victory – and Carno, who won by the same score at Llanfyllin to climb into the top half of the table.
Dyffryn Banw continue to climb away from the foot of the division courtesy of a 1-0 win at Newtown Reserves. Newbridge lost out in a high-scoring game at home to Caersws Reserves who headed home with a 6-3 win under their belts.
As a result of their extra-time win at Llanandras Park, Hay St Marys are the only Spar Mid Wales League side left in the FAW Trophy. Bow Street were beaten 6-2 at Llanharry after extra time, while Waterloo Rovers went down 6-2 at Venture Community.
In the Mid Wales League (South) Llandrindod Wells march on at the top after a 7-1 away win at Penybont United. Spa are now seven points clear at the top, but they have played a game more than second-placed Rhosgoch Rangers, whose game at Rhayader Reserves was called off.
Presteigne Reserves moved to within two points of Rhos courtesy of the 5-0 win at Radnor Valley.
Builth Wells stayed in touch with the leading pack after putting Penybont Athletic to the sword – 8-1 the margin in that one, while Knighton Town were also in good goalscoring form as they saw off Sennybridge 5-1 at home.
Newcastle and Talgarth Rovers battled out a 2-2 draw in south Shropshire while there was progress in the League Cup for Talgarth Town – 3-2 winners at Hay St Marys Reserves – and also Llandrindod Colts, who were 2-1 home winners over Builth Wednesdays.
CP Llanandras’ point in the 0-0 draw at St Harmon saw them climb a place in the table as they moved above Newbridge Reserves.
