Presteigne St Andrews could climb to tenth in the Spar Mid Wales League table were they to win their home match against Waterloo Rovers this weekend.
This is the only league match of the day and a Presteigne victory would see them climb above both Hay St Marys and Newtown Reserves in the table.
The Spar Mid Wales League Cup first round takes place this weekend (31 October) and Presteigne’s preliminary round conquerors – Penparcau – will entertain Newtown Reserves.
Among the likely highlights are the league leaders Aberystwyth Town’s home match against Dyffryn Banw, while Rhayader Town will be looking to bounce back from their Radnorshire Cup home defeat by Presteigne on Tuesday 27 October when they make the trip to UWA.
Newbridge enjoyed a welcome win over Dyffryn Banw in their last outing, but they will face a tough test when they make the long trip to Tywyn Bryncrug, while Llanrhaeadr against Carno has the makings of a decent game.
Elsewhere, Bow Street would have fancied their chances of progressing at home to Llanfyllin Town, but that game is off as it is reported that Llanfyllin are unable to raise a side. Dolgellau will entertain Hay St Marys, while the action will start on Friday night (30 October) with Llansantfraidd Village hosting Caersws Reserves.
In the Mid Wales League (South), Presteigne Reserves will look to keep up the pressure on the leading clubs when they make the trip to Breconshire for a game against Sennybridge, while CP Llanandras are due to host Rhayader Town Reserves.
The game of the weekend will take place on Friday 30 October (7.30pm kick off) when the leading two clubs will take on each other. Llandrindod Wells will have the home advantage for the meeting with Rhosgoch Rangers.
Builth Wells are right in the title race as they have games in hand, but they face a tricky trip to Knighton Town this weekend, while Hay St Marys Reserves will also be looking to stay in touch by winning at Penybont United.
Talgarth Town are also very much in the hunt at the top of the table and they will be favourites in their home game against Penybont Athletic.
In the day’s other games, Newcastle will fancy their chances of adding to St Harmon’s problems at the foot of the table when the sides will meet in south Shropshire, while Llandrindod Wells Colts and Newbridge Reserves will meet at The Broadway.
