…which makes it sound a little bit like the footballing equivalent of ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’, but this was the end result of another busy Saturday for Presteigne St Andrews.
The first team will – quite rightly – be delighted with their victory over visiting Waterloo Rovers at Llanandras Park, as the Welshpool-based club arrived in Presteigne with an unbeaten nine-game record in the Spar Mid Wales League this season.
Glen Tolley scored from the penalty spot for Tim Broome’s side with Joey Price adding the decisive second goal.
The Reserves, too, enjoyed a good win as they came away from Sennybridge with a 3-2 success in their Mid Wales League (South) meeting.
Nigel Duggan netted twice for Barry Williams’ side while Danny Ives was also on target as the Reserves put an end to the hoodoo that Sennybridge have held over them in recent meetings.
CP Llanandras got off to a flier in their home game against Rhayader Town Reserves on the John Beddoes School field when Tom Hooper put them ahead after only four minutes.
But Rhayader hit back to equalise six minutes later, and were then ahead after a quarter-of-an-hour. They made it 3-1 ten minutes before the interval and wrapped up the points with their fourth goal early in the second period.
There will be full match reports on each of the three matches played on the site at some stage on Sunday 1 or Monday 2 November, depending on when I can pin down the respective managers for the information needed.
