Well done to Barry Williams and his Reserve side who have been named Mid Wales League (South) Team of the Month for October.
The Reserves were always likely to be in the running for this award after a month in which they reeled off five straight league wins and kept clean sheets in four of those games.
Let’s hope they can roll that kind of form into their Emrys Morgan Cup campaign which gets underway tomorrow (Saturday 7 November) with a second-round tie at Knighton Town.
There is a full preview of this game on the Reserves page of the site, but the main news is that Barry is looking to bring in a new goalkeeper as Trevor Gummer and Ian Havard are both ineligible, while Lee Traylor is unavailable.
CP Llanandras are in Mid Wales League (South) action tomorrow when they will make the trip to Radnor Valley.
Manager Andy Crowe is without the suspended Mark Ammonds, while three other players are unavailable but, despite this, he is confident of being able to field a competitive side for the game.
Again, there is a more detailed match preview on the CP Llanandras page. The usual appeal goes out to those who might be going to either game – if you are, and you possess a digital camera, then please take a few photos and email them for use in the post-match reports.
Finally, a reminder (as if you didn’t know by now..) that the club’s annual bonfire and fireworks night takes place tomorrow night with the torchlit procession due to leave the Royal Oak at 6.30pm, and the fireworks due to get underway at around 7.00pm.
A last appeal – if you are available, and you would be prepared to help out on the gate for what is an important event for both the club and the town, then please contact Alan Randell – the committee really could do with your help on this one.
