Many congratulations to Shane Sutton who has been named as the Spar Mid Wales League Player of the  Month for October.

Presteigne’s manager Tim Broome said: “I am delighted for Shane as, to be honest, he is still carrying the effects of that knock he picked up in pre-season.

“He damaged his ankle ligaments and the swelling still hasn’t gone completely down, so he isn’t really 100 percent fit.

“While he is playing really well now, when he does get fully fit there could well be more to come from him,” he added.

Sages within the club who allegedly know about this kind of thing have put their heads together (there was something of a loud echo..) and we reckon that the last time a Presteigne player picked up such an award was at the end of the Championship-winning season when Adriano Girolami was named Manager and Player of the Season.

We stand to be corrected on this, so if you know differently, then feel free to email the site and put us right!

Well done to Carno’s John Davies who was named as Manager of the Month.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s trip for the first team to Aberystwyth Town Reserves, it will not have gone unnoticed that the leaders have hit a bit of a blip in recent times, the latest evidence of which was their 2-0 home defeat by Aberystwyth University on Monday 9 November.
