The dates for Alfred Sparey and Bucknell Cup ties involving both the Reserves and CP Llanandras have been confirmed.
Presteigne Reserves have been drawn at home to Penybont in the first round of the Bucknell Cup and, following consultation with both managers, it has been agreed to ‘double up’ this Saturday’s Mid Wales League (South) fixture at Llanandras Park, so that it will count for both the league and the Bucknell Cup.
We are awaiting confirmation from the Mid Wales League (South) secretary Paul Worts as he has to liaise with the match referee in case there is extra time, but are not anticipating too many problems.
Given the number of games faced by clubs in the Mid Wales League (South) this season, both managers felt this was the sensible course of action, even though Penybont had originally entered the cup as a joint United-Athletic side.
CP Llanandras will entertain Leominster Town Reserves in the first round of the Alfred Sparey Cup on Sunday 22 November when the kick off on the John Beddoes School field will be at 2.00pm.
Andy Crowe’s side have been handed an away tie at Hinton Reserves in the first round of the Bucknell Cup and this will be played on Sunday 6 December when, again, the kick off will be at 2.00pm. Jack Watkins has been booked to referee this match.
It’s hoped to firm up the date for the Sparey Cup quarter-final tie between the Reserves and Radnor Valley in the next week or so, but this doesn’t have to be played until the end of January.
